How to read this table
Numbers are typical / illustrative for popular evaluation and funded structures as of early 2026 marketing pages. Firms rebrand products, change trailing logic, and offer multiple account sizes. Always confirm on the official site before you trade.
- Daily loss — soft or hard cap that pauses or fails the account for the day (or permanently).
- Max drawdown — total loss from starting balance or from a high-water mark.
- Trailing vs static — trailing moves the floor up with profits (or EOD equity); static stays fixed from start.
- Suggested risk % — conservative starting point for calculator risk-per-trade relative to account size, often constrained further by daily limit.

Static vs trailing drawdown — sizing impact
Static overall DD
Floor is fixed from the starting balance (e.g. start $100k, 10% DD → $90k breach). Early profits give you more cushion in dollars from the high-water equity, but the rule is still measured from start. Sizing can stay consistent as a % of starting capital.
Trailing DD / max loss
Floor moves up as you make money (sometimes only at end of day). After a green open, a normal pullback can hit the trail even if you are still up from day one. Practical implication: after a big winner day, cut size until the trail locks or you understand exactly how it is calculated.
Mapping rules into PropSize
- Set Account size to the evaluation / funded balance.
- Set Daily loss limit ($) to the firm’s daily number (not a guess).
- Set Risk % to your plan (0.25–1% is common).
- Set Max trades so N full losers fit under the daily (e.g. 4 → ~25% of daily each).
- Use a firm preset on the calculator homepage as a starting point, then edit.
Quick presets built into the calculator
- Apex / Topstep — futures-only presets (50k–150k)
- FundedNext Stellar — 1-Step, 2-Step, Lite, Instant with correct daily % and leverage defaults
- FundedNext Futures — Flex, Legacy, Rapid Daily, Rapid Pro with official $ MLL/DLL where published
- FTMO 100k — classic 5% daily CFD-style preset
Soft daily fields appear when a product has no official daily loss (e.g. Flex, Legacy, Instant) so the calculator still budgets risk — labeled in the UI. Not endorsements; re-check firm sites before trading.
