Funded phase also trims indices/commodities to 1:5 temporarily on some models — check live FAQ. The calculator's 2-Step presets auto-apply 1:10 when you pick XAUUSD.

Sizing gold (XAUUSD) after the 1:10 change
Gold is where most FundedNext CFD accounts actually die, and the leverage cut made it sharper. Two separate things bite at once, and traders usually only account for the first:
- Risk sizing — how many lots your stop distance allows before you exceed your dollar risk. At $1 per pip per 0.01 lot on a typical XAUUSD contract, a $5.00 stop on 0.10 lots is roughly $50 of risk. That part is unchanged by leverage.
- Margin capacity — at 1:10, a single 1.00 lot of gold ties up roughly a tenth of its notional value. With gold trading in the thousands per ounce and 100 ounces per standard lot, that is a large margin block per lot on a 50k account. You can hit the margin ceiling well before you hit your risk ceiling.
Which means the honest sizing question on gold is not "what does my 1% allow" but "which of the two limits binds first". The calculator answers both — enter the current gold price in the margin field so the notional is realistic, and it will cap the suggested lots at whichever constraint is tighter. If the two answers differ a lot, the smaller one is your size. There is no version of this where you use the bigger number.
Two habits worth keeping: gold's spread and slippage around news are wide enough that a stop measured in cents is not a real stop, and the same symbol can carry different leverage in the challenge than in the funded account. Re-check the number the day you get funded rather than assuming it carried over.
